In the starting days of world wide web (www) it consists only websites. In this we get many informations on different topics. Web browsers are invented to accsess those documents easily. All the flow of information was one-way, from server to browser. Many websites did not authenticate users, because there is no need.  All the users are treated in the same way and are given same information. If any kind of security breach or threats are arises in website then most of the time vulnerabilities is related to web server software. If any attacker wants to compromised a web Server to get a access of any sensitive information then most of the time they will not get the access of any sensitive information, because all the information is is already open to public view.
Today, in this era of technology www is completely changed from its early form. Many of the sites are on the web are applications. 


They have the ability to rely on two way flow of information between server and browser basically they are highly functional. In this we need to register and login, Financial transactions, search, and also authoring of content by users. Many information processed is private and highly sensitive. Therefore, Security is a big issue. No one wants to use any application if His/Her private information is disclosed by the Unauthenticated parties. Every web application is different from each other and also have different vulnerabilities.


Most of the applications are developed in home - and most of the applications are developed by developers who doesn't have proper understanding of the security problems which arises the program they were generated. To get secure they have to give their core functionality, applications normally require connection or connectivity to computer system that contains crusial data and have to perform powerful business functions.


Some years back if you want to transfer funds, you have to visit the bank, and any employ transfer for you; But today you only have to visit any application and you can transfer funds at your own.  
If any attacker compromises the application then he or she will able to steal personal information, which carries out financial fraud.


If we have to avoid this then we must have proper knowledge of web security...
Every day our world and Technology changing fastly and because of this we all must have to learn everyday.
