Electric currents and its effect.
Hey, learners today we are going to discuss a most important chapter are you can say that concept which we learn in our school and colleges. That is "Electric current and its effect".
In this segment we are going to discuss some basic concepts regarding this topic.
And I'm sure after reading this blog you are able to explain basic concepts regarding this topic.
Before learning this topic you must have to know some basic symbols of Electrical components. These symbols are very important to learn because this helps you to create a simple electrical circuit in your copy or notebook.

In this figure with clearly see symbols of electrical cell, electric bulb, switch in on off position, battery and wire. You must have to know about all the symbols.
You must have to draw some circuits with the help of this symbols.
To use any electrical devices we need a energy source for that most of the device contains electrical cell or battery.
Combination of electric cells makes a battery.
There are two terminals in this electric cells that is positive and negative through which electric charges can flow easily.
To make this cells are used this cells as battery you must have to make a cell holder.
We can easily make a cell holder by the help of wooden blocks, two iron strips and rubber bands.
It is necessary that the positive terminal of one cell is connected with the negative terminal of another cell.
Such a combination of this is referred to as battery.
Never touch a lighted electric bulb or circuit which is connected to the mains.
Heating effect of electric current:-
The wire gets hot when electric current passes through it. This is known as heating effect of electric current.
You may see a home electric heater Or an electric heater used for cooking. All this contain a coil of wire. This coin of wire is called element.
This way of heating is used in electrical irons and also used in filaments of electric bulbs.
Sometime due to overheating of wires a phenomenon will occur which is named as short circuit due to this large amount of damage will occur and also our homes came under the Fire.
To protect ourself from this phenomena we made fuse.
Fuse:-
Wires made up of from some special materials get melted when a large amount of electric current will pass through it. These wires are used in making of electrical fuse.
For example:- Miniature circuit breaker (MCB)
Today MCB are used widely in homes. This fuses are seen like a switch, when large amount of electric current pass through it MCB will automatically turn off the connection of electricity of all over the house.
Magnetic effect of electric currents:-
When electric current passes
through a wire, it behaves like a magnet.
This is the magnetic effect of the electric
current.
Due to this quality of electric current a new term or a new phenomenon will occur which is referred to as electromagnets.
Electromagnets can be made very strong and lift up very heavy load. This type of electromagnets are used in junk yards to remove magnetic materials from other junks.
Electric Bell.
In the case of electric bills electromagnets are also used.
The circuit of an electric bell consists of a coil of wire wound on an iron piece.
The coil acts as an electromagnet.
When the whole circuit is complete a hammer Beat continuously and the electric bell and it started ringing.
